The Caravan
|
The caravan is well equipped for 4 people, with a double and a twin bedroom. It has TV, microwave, fridge, full cooker, shower and separate toilet. The open plan lounge/diner and kitchen have superb views, and offers a great place to relax and watch the wildlife. This unspoilt area is a haven for rare wildlife including red squirrel, pine marten, wildcat, foxes, badgers and a great variety of bird life, including Red Kite and Osprey, all of which can be seen from the caravan {with a bit of luck!!}
Lounge, complete with tree's!!
Dining area. The Croft House is an excellent base from which to enjoy the best the area has to offer. Fishing is available both on the renowned River Beauly and local hill lochs. Loch nam Bonnach is a beautiful spot, about a mile or so stroll through woodland teaming with Red Deer and other wildlife. The loch can be fished for trout, by way of permit. Cycling, riding and shooting can all be enjoyed locally. Further afield you can reach Ullapool and the West Coast in less than an hour, for 'probably' the best scenery on the planet, although I could be a little bit biased!!
Loch nan Bonnach, a short walk away - good trout fishing. There are also several pony trekking facilities within half an hour or less drive from here, including the Drumglass Riding Centre at Maryburgh. The Black Isle Riding Centre at Drumsmittal offers riding lessons as well, for all level of experience, with an outdoor teaching area where the views might well distract you from your lesson! For lessons closer to The Croft, the Chapelton Farm Equestrian Centre in Muir of Ord has an indoor school. Mountain biking is increasing in popularity throughout the Highlands and there are a number of good tracks either specifically for mountain bikers or shared with walkers. Mountain Bike Highlands & Islands, www.mbhi.co.uk offer guided rides for groups with transport, bikes and all the equipment you might need and are experienced at working with holiday makers of all abilities. Golfers are unlikely to be bored staying here, with the nearest course at Muir of Ord. Even if you've never tried before, there are golf lessons on offer. There are plenty of other courses in the area, including two at Inverness and one at Fortrose further on the Black Isle. Experienced golfers might want to treat themselves to a trip up to the Royal Dornoch Course. Beauly Self Catering Caravan
Very peacefully located on the hillside 1 mile out of Beauly, this modern 2 bedroom self catering caravan, located privately on the croft has magnificent views of The Beauly Firth towards Inverness. Inverness is only 20 minutes away, but you can always escape back here for total peace and quiet.
